Addiction is a disease of the brain, raising havoc with the neurotransmitters that naturally help people manage pain, relieve stress, and provide pleasure from food, sex, and laughter. Mindfulness meditation retreat brings awareness to the cravings and responses, providing an opportunity to intervene and identify alternatives to an automatic reflex to use drugs or alcohol to satisfy a craving.
Yoga therapy is an ancient system of natural healing rooted in India’s Vedic tradition. It is based on the belief that the human body is a microcosm of the universe and that the mind and body are interconnected. Yoga therapy is a holistic health and well-being approach focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. It promotes health and well-being through yoga postures, breathwork, and meditation.
Wellness retreat benefits various conditions and disorders, including anxiety, depression, stress, chronic pain, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and gastrointestinal disorders. It is a safe and effective form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
We can tailor the practice of yoga therapy to each client’s individual needs. The process is a gentle and non-invasive approach to health and well-being. It is suitable for people of all ages and levels of fitness. At Healing Pines Recovery, we use various techniques, including yoga, hiking retreats, and meditation, to help clients achieve their health goals.
Our Colorado yoga retreat has been designed to help those in recovery from addiction and mental illness. We have seen first-hand how yoga can help people heal and recover.
Here are just a few of the benefits our clients have experienced:
We work with most major commercial insurance plans which can help cover up to 100% of the costs associated with treatment.
As the mind and body are inextricably linked, when one is out of balance, the other is affected. There are physical and mental benefits to a yoga session that help to restore balance and harmony to the mind and body. This balance can help provide a foundation for sustainable recovery.
Yoga can improve flexibility, strength, and posture while also reducing stress. For those in recovery, these benefits are especially important. The improved flexibility can help to reduce aches and pains, while the enhanced strength can help to reduce the risk of falls or injury. Reduced stress reduces anxiety and improves sleep.
The mental benefits of yoga are just as important as the physical benefits. A yoga retreat can help improve focus and concentration while reducing stress and anxiety. For those in recovery, these benefits can help reduce the relapse risk. The improved focus reduces distractions and improves decision-making.
Yoga benefits are not just limited to the physical and mental; they are vast and varied. But improved physical and psychological health improves relationships and increases overall happiness. Yoga also creates a sense of community and support for those in recovery.
Yoga session instructors can help participants find the right techniques and practice to enhance their experience. Yoga meditation may not come naturally for all, so professionals can help the person feel more comfortable.
