Healing Pines Recovery is an exclusive and private residential rehab in Colorado specializing in treating men suffering from addiction. Addiction does not discriminate and all paths to recovery are different. We pride ourselves on embracing the uniqueness of each individual and their circumstance.
Men and women can have vastly different experiences with addiction. Men are more likely to struggle with long-term addiction and go much longer before seeking help than women. That means that when men are ready to seek help, they need residential programs like those offered at our men’s substance abuse treatment center in Colorado. These programs allow clients to focus entirely on their recovery, dedicating themselves full-time to treatment without any distractions.

Research has found that men respond differently to drugs compared to women. Men also develop different behaviors. For example, men are traditionally more likely to develop alcoholism or use illegal drugs on a recreational basis.
Men are more likely to try drugs or drink in order to be socially accepted in group settings. On average, addiction in male clients does not develop as quickly as it does in women. However, once the addiction behavior is established, men often struggle with more substantial withdrawal symptoms, particularly for alcohol addiction.
Research from the National Institute on Drug Abuse has found that men struggle more than women with heroin, cocaine, and alcohol.

Regardless of the substance, the longer you go without treatment, the more likely you are to develop secondary complications, including mental and physical health disorders.
Male clients who struggle with untreated alcoholism or more likely to develop anxiety, depression, liver disease, kidney problems, and cardiovascular issues. Addiction to prescription medications or cocaine leaves clients susceptible to malnutrition, sleep disorders, damage to family relationships, financial issues, trouble in the workplace, and ongoing physical and mental health issues.
Half of the clients admitted for treatment for alcohol addiction also struggle with depression or anxiety. The fact that men are more likely to try multiple substances to achieve the same effect leaves male clients susceptible to developing multiple substance abuse issues if left untreated.
