Colorado Substance Abuse Facilities

At Healing Pines, we offer supportive inpatient rehab for men at our Colorado substance abuse facilities in the scenic small town of Elizabeth. Clients stay in our beautifully appointed log home and enjoy the healing effects of nature in an unspoiled mountain environment. Inpatients receive both individual and group therapy, and we provide additional support for men with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring mental health conditions.

At Healing Pines Therapy’s Colorado substance abuse facilities, we recognize that a strong therapeutic alliance, or bond between client and therapist, is central to recovery from addiction. Our program emphasizes overall wellness through daily exercise and renewed connections to nature.

Exercise and Nutrition

We believe that balanced nutrition and exercise are the cornerstones of a lasting recovery. A healthy diet supports a feeling of well-being and helps to regulate mood. Exercise increases energy and enhances mood to help our clients remain positive throughout recovery. We believe developing a healthy brain and body is key to becoming the best we can be, in recovery and in life.

Animal-Assisted Therapy

Working with animals is not only fun, it’s a healing activity that supports key life skills such as accountability, responsibility, confidence, self-control, and problem-solving. Clients at Healing Pines’ Colorado substance abuse facilities spend time with horses, lamas, goats and other animals, as well as contributing time to animal shelters. We also offer Equine Therapy, a type of Animal-Assisted Therapy in which patients have guided interactions with the horses facilitated by a professional.

Horticultural Therapy

Our program focuses on getting clients outside and working with their hands. Gardening, or horticultural therapy, is a mindfulness exercise that promotes peace of mind and mental clarity. It’s also an enjoyable activity that enhances a person’s well being and supports an environment of sustained recovery. Horticultural therapy improves memory, cognitive abilities, task initiation, language skills, and socialization.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT supports recovery by helping clients reframe negative thoughts and feelings and regain control over their lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a central part of treatment at our inpatient Colorado substance abuse facilities. It’s a successful component of treating addiction as well as trauma, depression, anxiety and OCD for our dual-diagnosis clients. DBT combines individual therapy, group skills sessions, and coaching to provide comprehensive support during treatment at our Colorado substance abuse facilities. It’s an effective treatment for clients who have patterns of impulsive behavior and intense emotions.  Click here to contact us about Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in Colorado.
