12-Step and Alternative Substance Abuse Recovery Programs
Healing Pines’ holistic approach means we work with our clients to identify the tools and programs that best support their successful recovery from drug addiction. Clients use tools learned in therapy sessions, and receive support from alternative programs for recovery.
Popular 12-step programs have helped millions of people successfully recover from addiction. Members are encouraged to acknowledge their weaknesses and turn their lives over to a higher power. We’re happy to make 12-Step meetings available to our clients, but this program is just one of many tools we use.
SMART Recovery is a mental health program focused on human behavior. Instead of dredging up the past, SMART emphasizes working on behavior in the present and the future. SMART Recovery helps to create behavioral change with a 4-Point Program: (1) Building and maintaining the motivation to change. (2) Coping with urges to use. (3) Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in an effective way without addictive behaviors. (4) Living a balanced, positive, and healthy life.
Secular Organizations for Sobriety (S.O.S.) respects recovery in all forms, and considers spirituality to be a private and confidential matter. Promoting sobriety in a secular setting, S.O.S. encourages the scientific study of addiction, and isn’t limited to a single theory of addiction.
